In the parish are defined 3 zones for authorized camping: the zone above the beach, in the multi-sports area and the river.
After the Ribeira Quente is full, parking will be done in Furnas, as it has been happening in recent years, and will be destined a proper place, at the end of Rua dos Moinhos, duly marked, for the parking of Chicharro.
Also in Furnas the bus stop will be made at the same place with departures to Ribeira Quente on the farm, starting at 5:00 p.m.; on Friday, after 16, and on Saturday, starting at 3:00 p.m. The last time of departure of Ribeira Quente via Furnas will be at 7 in the morning for every day of the festival.
Pedro Abrunhosa, Diogo Piçarra and Fernando Daniel are the main artists who, this year, will step on the stage of the Chicharro, event that happens from July 5 to 8 in the fishing village of the municipality of Povoação.
For this 29th edition, the festival will also feature Danny Avila, I Love Baile Funk, Overule & MC Landu BI and André Henriques, as well as regional bands and DJs Musix, Fat of the Land, Sara Cruz Trio, Kevin Pikes, Play and Soulsky.
The president of the Maré Viva Association, Ruben Melo, once again stressed that “it is important not to forget that in recent years, fortunately and also the result of a lot of work, the organization has been doing so well. We always try to have the best artists, especially artists who stand out for the live performances, but we also give utmost importance to all the logistic aspects, always trying to implement very well defined standards so that the festivities enjoy themselves with the best possible conditions.
This year’s edition will feature Pedro Abrunhosa who will not be presenting any of them, because in addition to the best songs, the best albums, this great Portuguese artist makes every live concert a unique and special “Moment”.
Diogo Piçarra is another of the sounding names of this summer festival that places Ribeira Quente in the spotlight of the island of São Miguel. Singer, musician, producer and writer, is one of the artists, at this moment, in greater evidence in the national musical panorama.
Fernando Daniel arrives also, for the first time, to Chicharro. He is a young Portuguese singer and songwriter who became better known when he won the 4th edition of the talent show “The Voice Portugal”.
The last day of the Chicharro will be dedicated to the children with the Capuchinho Vermelho musical, an afternoon that will also have other attractions, namely pula-jumps, modeling of balloons, face paintings among other activities.
