The qualifying event is played again in the usual section of Remédios for another year and the rally itself, has its start on the same day with three specials. After a few years, the Coroa da Mata section rejoins the itinerary, although in a slightly longer version with 11.10km, followed by a new section starting in Mediana and ending in Remédios, passing through several zones of the old section Soluções M. The first competitive day, closed again with the already classic super special Grupo Marques, with slight changes.

Following the first stage, but already the next day, it starts in Pico da Pedra in a longer version with 10.90km and with less asphalt. The mythical section of the Sete Cidades will return to a format used a few years ago, being more spectacular and more interesting in terms of pilotage and less penalty for two-wheel drive cars.
With the same concern, the third part of the day is a novelty in the Azores Rally, it too much less penalty for 2WD cars, with its start near the Vista do Rei and complete with a part of the old section of Feteiras. After double-crossing these three special stages, the day will end at the same place the previous day, with the second and last stop in the super special Grupo Marques.

On the last day, the rally is played again in the oldest geological zone of the island – in the mountains of Nordeste.
The Graminhais section will be more extensive in the 2019 edition, but the mythical Tronqueira special will remain unchanged. The penultimate section will end with a single passage in the whole rally, the Vila Franca / São Brás section, but in a different and less paved version.
The last section of the rally played on Saturday will be shorter in comparison to the most recent editions, with only a new passage through Graminhais and Tronqueira.
