The county of Santa Cruz da Graciosa occupies all the territory of the island Graciosa and its islets. The island has a coarse oval shape, 12.5 km long and 8.5 km wide. It is the least mountainous of the Azorean islands, reaching 405 m of maximum altitude in the east edge of the Caldera. This low elevation gives the island a temperate oceanic climate, characterized by the lower rainfall of the archipelago.
The relief of the county is generally flattened, marked by numerous cones of slag that give a markedly volcanic character to him, with a more accentuated relief in the southern part.
