The António Borges garden, built between 1858 and 1861, is one of the main historical gardens of the island of São Miguel, representing for the history of gardens a patrimonial value of major relevance in the regional and national panorama.

Since 1957, it has belonged to the Municipality of Ponta Delgada, since then it has been a recreational and leisure area, with free public access.
