The boiler is about 400m deep and 2 km in diameter and inside we can find endemic flora of the Azores.
Although not allowed to descend to the bottom of the crater, the visitor has a spectacular trail that surrounds the entire area of the caldera.
In the center of Faial Island, there is a sanctuary of the native flora of the Azores. We are in the presence of a huge crater, with a green background and populated by small ponds and lagoons.
