O Silva
In 1979, Carlos Tavares Silva, owner of the current O SILVA Restaurant, opened a brewery space that served drinks and snacks on the ground floor and meals on the 1st floor. Later, a contiguous land was annexed, sealed to the costaneiras and covered with foliage of criptoméria, where it was very pleasant to taste the dishes that made Ribeira Grande famous: the barracudas, the limpets, the chips and other clams, the octopus cooked or roasted, the birds, at the time so appreciated, the "chicharrinhos of villain sauce", the greens of vine of garlic, among other regional delicacies.
