Fort of São Brás
In a dominant position in the Alto da Rocha, next to the Hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, it had the defense function of this anchorage, southwest of the island, against the attacks of pirates and corsairs, once frequent in this region of the Atlantic Ocean. Cooperated with the Fortins or Batteries of Porto, below, with the water flower, with the Fort of Marvão to the east, and the Fort of the Forca, to the west.
