Porto Afonso, originally designated as Afonso do Porto, is a fishing port on the island of Graciosa. The name of Afonso do Porto, according to historians, will prove that the burned lands where the port is located were, at the beginning of the settlement of the island, someone named by that name.
It presents itself as a place of amazing geological apparatus with high cliffs and calcined by the fury of the volcanoes where the different constructive geological layers of the island can be appreciated in its splendor, making visible in the sights shades that go from the gray of the rock to the red of the slag of bagacina.
