Vigia da Baleia

With 7 km, the route of Vigia da Baleia connects the village of Povoação to Faial da Terra by a linear route, with medium difficulty and 3 hours duration. The trail pass through Lomba dos Pós and during the route you can observe several landscapes, among which stands out the Pico dos Bodes Viewpoint, which has a panoramic view over the village of Povoação and the coastline to the islet of Vila Franca do Campo.

In the descent to Faial da Terra the hikers will find an old spot for the observation of different species of whales.

The trails often pass through areas classified as Protected Landscape. Contribute to its protection and ensure its biodiversity through the conservation of this natural habitat. Bring along with you all the junk you produce (and any more you find).
